16XL

For VETEMENTS’ SS24 collection, 16XL, I worked across product development for outerwear, knitwear, leather, and shirting, supporting the collection from fabric sourcing through development and production.

Those categories were developed and produced in Italy, with a strong focus on construction, proportion, and material. A major part of the process was finding fabrics and production solutions that could translate the collection’s exaggerated silhouettes into garments that still worked physically and technically.

Conceptually, 16XL explored the newly intensified fascination with artificial intelligence and the increasingly blurred line between what feels real and what appears almost artificially generated. The collection played with scale, distortion, and surreal proportions, showing how fiction and reality can begin to merge.

I was also the fitting model for the collection. Most of the male and unisex styles were developed directly on my body, which meant I was involved with the garments not only from a product-development perspective, but also physically throughout the fitting process.
